The Elgin County Railway Museum is currently offering half price admission due to a power outage that is affecting parts of the building. The museum experienced some electrical issues earlier this week that left the building without power an unable to operate.
Museum Operations Manager Sydney Walker says the model room and the bathrooms in the museum are still currently without lights due to the electrical issue that they are facing, however they have opened back up and are allowing visits to all the areas that still have electricity.
Walker says that they are instructing people who still wish to visit the museum that the CASO Station is just a short walk away and their bathrooms are available to use.
Due to the outage the Thomas the train themed kids workshop that was scheduled for Thursday (Aug 22) will now be moved to the following week on Thursday, August 29th from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
They are hoping to have full power restored to the building by next week but until then admission will only be $4 for adults, $3.50 for students and seniors, and $2 for children over 3 years old.
