The Elgin County OPP are continuing to focus on the murder of Sonya Nadine Cywink as the 25 year anniversary of the discovery of her body approaches. The OPP have increased the awareness of this case for the entire month of August, with hopes of finding more information about the incident all these years later.
August 26th marked the 25 year anniversary of the last time Cywink was seen alive in London near the intersection of Dundas Street and Lyle Street around 2 a.m., and on August 30th will be 25 year since the discovery of her body.
Media Relation Officer Adam Crewdson says Cywink’s sister Maggie and family will be holding a memorial walk on August 30th to help get the word out about the campaign.
Crewdson says the family is looking for answers and some peace so that they can move on from this chapter in their life. Crewdson adds that 25 years later they are still asking the public for any information they may have about the murder of Sonya Nadine Cywink by calling the OPP or Crime Stoppers.
