The Elm Street construction project will continue over the next month and a half or so as the anticipated November finish date approaches.
Manager of Capital Works for the City of St. Thomas Patrick Anckaert says that all work is currently on schedule with the project’s end date.
Anckaert says that with water main construction still in the works, residents in the area may still continue to receive notices of water service disruptions. Anckaert adds that normal access to the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital will reopen in the coming weeks, but until all road work is complete access will continue to be from the east via. First / Mandeville / Wood Streets.
Elm Street still remains closed from the Pinafore Park Entrance to First Avenue, with construction detours for the project being Wilson Avenue/Elgin Street, Wellington Street and First Avenue.
