The St. Thomas Fire Department responded to a report of a transport truck on fire this morning. The fire department received several 911 calls around 6:10 a.m. about a fully involved transport truck on fire behind Global Pet Foods on Talbot Street. The fire department was able to put out the fire safely with no injuries reported.
It was determined that the fire was started in the engine compartment of the transport. The trailer portion of the transport truck as well as the nearby building was unaffected by the fire.
It is reported that the driver of the truck was uninjured during the incident.
