Aylmer resident Bob Hargraves is running for the New Democratic Party in the Elgin-Middlesex-London riding in the October 21st Federal Election. Hargraves has lived in Aylmer for the past 3 years and became involved with the NDP as a volunteer in the 2018 Provincial Election where they then approached him to run as a candidate.
Hargraves is retired but has a social services background, working with the Children’s Aid Society and was a Director of a branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association.
Hargraves says that the NDP feel that expanding Pharmacare and dental are their main platform goals.
Hargraves says that affordable housing and increasing taxes on the wealthy to increase services to all Canadians are other platform issues.
Pam Armstrong is running for the Liberals, Ericha Hendel for the Green Party, Peter Redecop for the Christian Heritage Party of Canada, Donald Helkaa for the People’s Party of Canada, Richard Styve for the Libertarian Party of Canada and incumbent Karen Vecchio for the Conservatives.
