The Talbot Trail Toastmasters will be holding a Community Open House during their next 2 meetings. The Talbot Trail Toastmasters meet every Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the community room at the Elgin Centre where they discuss specific topics in order to grow as speakers and presenters.
Vice President of Membership Julie Hayes says the open house will also give people a chance to discuss current election issues.
Hayes says guests of the open house will have an opportunity to speak for about 2 minutes to share their thoughts on the election as well as the election issue of the day. Tonight’s election topic will be the regulation of phone bills and next week’s meeting will focus on the economy and jobs.
Former Toastmaster Mayor Joe Preston will be at tonights (Oct 10) meeting where he will be sharing how Toastmasters affected his life personally and professionally. St. Thomas Police Chief Chris Herridge will be the speaker at next week’s meeting, where he will share his experience being apart of the Talbot Trail Toastmasters.
