Dotsy’s Costume Shop is accepting gently used Halloween costume donations for their 4th annual Project Pumpkin. Project Pumpkin provides free donated costumes from their closet to anyone who comes into their Ross Street shop and says “Project Pumpkin” with no questions asked.
The campaign started 4 years ago when the store provided a family in need that came into their store with costumes for their children.
Owner Shelley Summers says Project Pumpkin is a way for them to make sure no one misses out on Halloween.
Summers says that this year is the biggest project pumpkin yet, with Elgin Chrysler and the St. Thomas Fire Department joining on as drop off locations for gently used clothing. Elgin Chrysler will also be holding a fun event on Saturday, October 19th with face painting, costumes, food trucks and possibly a fire truck all in support of Project pumpkin from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
