A grandmother is facing an impaired driving charge after a traffic stop on Thursday night while on the way to pick up her grandson. The woman was pulled over around 9 p.m. on Talbot Street and officers found that the woman had allegedly been drinking when they spoke to her.
The woman claimed that she was on the way to pick up her grandson and that she had only consumed one beer. A field sobriety test revealed that the woman was impaired. The woman was taken into custody and tests at the police station revealed that she allegedly had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in her system.
The 47 year old has been charged with one count of impaired operation by alcohol and one count of driving with a blood alcohol level over 80. Her license was suspended for 90 days. The vehicle was towed and impounded for 7 days.
