The Elgin – St. Thomas Community Foundation is inviting youth between the ages of 15 – 29 to tell them what needs to be done to make a difference in Elgin and St. Thomas. The “Vital Conversation” will be taking place on October 29th at the CASO Station from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. All youth are invited to enjoy free pizza and talk about how the ESCF can make a difference with their future granting process.
Foundation Executive Director Terry Carroll says that they want to give the youth a chance to be heard.
Carroll says that this will be the second phase in the RBC Future Launch Community Challenge that the foundation has partnered with where youth have been asked to submit their boldest ideas on what could be done to improve society.
The conversation will also tie into the “Great-EST Giving Tuesday” happening on December 3rd. The EST represents Elgin – St. Thomas and they want businesses, individuals and organizations to raise funds on December 3rd that will go into the “Vital Community Fund.” The funds will go to support the community’s needs that will be addressed on October 29th.
