23 year old Austin Harrison of St. Thomas was arrested yesterday (Oct 15) after he was recorded stealing a bicycle. Harrison was seen on security footage stealing the bike that was locked up on a bike rack in a parking lot at the corner of Talbot and Flora Street. He was seen cutting the lock of the bike with a pair of bolt cutters and riding away on it. The owner of the bike secured the video footage and contacted police who found Harrison riding the bike on Confederation Drive.
Officers took Harrison into custody without incident where they also seized the bolt cutters , a suspected stolen pay cheque, suspected stolen debit and credit cards along with a small quantity of Purple Fentanyl.
As a result the 23 year old was charged with two counts Possession of Stolen Property, two counts Breach of Release Conditions, one count Possession of Break and Enter Tools and one count Drug Possession – Purple Fentanyl. He was held for a court appearance.
