Tonight, the election will determine the course of the country for the next four years.
Whether you have voted already or not, it’s important to remain informed about each party’s issues.
As for the race for the Prime Minister chair itself, Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies at Fanshawe College Matt Farrell says that the polls suggesting a coin flip between two parties and thinking there will be a majority government is a bet he wouldn’t personally take.
The only “sure things,” in this tight race Farrell says is the Tories locking up Alberta and the prairies while the Liberals are holding onto Atlantic Canada.
Farrell says the Bloc Québécois have seen a surge and that makes the battle for seats in Quebec extremely important for the Liberals as they’ll need to hang onto their seats there.
The Green wave has been growing over the past few years but Farrell feels the geographical difference between their hot spots is a negative not a positive. He said the NDP under leader Jagmeet Singh have enjoyed a nice resurgence, which could spell disaster for the Liberals.
