A 25 year old Union man has been charged with stunt driving following an incident that took place on Tuesday around noon. The traffic unit was in the area of Renaissance Drive when officers observed a white Ford F150 reversing down the street at a high rate of speed, spinning and squealing the tires.
It is reported that the driver then slammed on the breaks causing the vehicle to spin 180 degrees. As a result the tires of the truck lost traction causing the vehicle to nearly hit a hydro pole. Police performed a traffic stop on Elm Street where the 25 year old driver was charged with stunt driving under the highway traffic act and was issued a summons for court.
The vehicle was seized and impounded where it will remain for 7 days.
