A wind warning is in effect for St. Thomas, Aylmer and Eastern Elgin County. Southwesterly wind gusts of close to 90 km/hr are expected for Thursday night are expected to continue overnight before weakening slightly on Friday.
Wind gusts this strong do have the potential to damage buildings and break tree branches and power outages so exercise caution when out trick or treating tonight.
Westerly wind gusts of 70 – 80 km/hr are forecasted for Friday morning (November 1).
The winds will begin to ease up on Friday as the day goes on.
A special weather statement is in effect for Rodney, Shedden and Western Elgin County today. Anywhere from 15 – 30 mm of rain is expected during the day and total amounts of between 30 – 50 mm by this evening. The heaviest rainfall is expected this afternoon into this evening.
