St. Thomas Native Kyle Walters is hoping the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will end their record setting longest drought without a CFL Championship during the 107th Grey Cup this weekend. Walters who is the General Manager for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will watch his team go up against his former team in the 2019 Grey Cup this Sunday.
The Blue Bombers will be taking on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats who Walters was drafted by and played 7 seasons for. Walters also won a Grey Cup championship with the team in 1999, which is the last time the Tiger-Cats took home the trophy. Despite the outcome of the game a team with a long drought will finally bring home the CFL Championship as the last Championship for the Blue Bombers came 28 years ago.
The 11-7 Blue Bombers who are coming in as a slight underdog, will take on the 15-3 Tiger-Cats on Sunday, November 24th at 6 p.m. at McMahon Stadium in Calgary.
Country music superstar Keith Urban will be headlining the halftime show.
