The Fingal-Shedden Optimist Santa Claus parade is taking place on Sunday afternoon in downtown Fingal. The parade will begin at 2 p.m. and will go throughout downtown Fingal. This year’s theme is “Christmas Around the World.”
The Fingal-Shedden Optimist Club have been organizing the parade for close to 40 years.
Chair of the Santa Claus Parade Committee Steve Garvin says that the parade is now becoming multi-generational for some families.
Garvin says that the parade brings a sense of community for the small town which they feel is important. Santa will be staying after the parade to visit with the children and nonperishable food donations will also be accepted during the parade that will go to support local food banks.
