High Schools within the Thames Valley District School Board will be closed on Wednesday if a tentative agreement is not reached. The school board has made the decision following the announcement of a province-wide teacher walkout that will be taking place Wednesday if an agreement between the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation and the Provincial Government is not reached.
The TVDSB says that they have no other option but to close all secondary schools to students as there would be no sufficient supervision to ensure student safety. All out-of-school activities including sports and field trips will be canceled on Wednesday as well.
These closures will only impact high schools within the TVDSB. Elementary schools within the TVDSB as well as all schools within the London District Catholic School Board will be running as normal on Wednesday. All classes will resume as normal on Thursday, December 5th.
