The Kettle Creek Conservation Authority is looking for volunteers for their new water monitoring program. The program would see volunteers provided with a rain gage and then input their totals daily online or on an app through the Community Collaborative Rain, Hail & Snow Network.
The program funded through the RBC Foundation would then give the KCCA assess to the local data that can assist them in their flood forecasting within the Kettle Creek Watershed.
Water Conservation Supervisor Jennifer Dow says that the data can help them know exactly where it’s raining in the watershed.
Dow says that the program is a great way for them to harness the local weather watchers that exist in the watershed. There are 20 rain gages available and to sign up for the program you can visit Kettle Creek’s website.
