A local business in Port Burwell is making their annual Santa Claus parade even more festive by handing out teddy bears to all the children along the parade route. Izzy’s Schooners took over Port Burwell’s tradition of handing out teddy bears 3 years ago after the previous people that did so, sold their business.
This year they have collected around 500 teddy bears for the children as well as some skipping ropes, brain teasers, and rubik’s cubes for kids that are a little bit older.
Owner of Izzy’s Schooners Isabelle Ingalls says she does it to see the smiles on the children’s face’s when they receive the gift.
The parade will be taking place this Saturday (Dec 7) and will begin at 6 p.m. The parade route will start at the Legion and make its way to the Lighthouse where Santa will be following the parade. Kids who visit with Santa will also receive some holiday treats and hot chocolate as they wait.
