Students and staff at Central Elgin Collegiate Institute raised over $16,000 during their 3rd annual Inside Ride event on Wednesday. The event is a Canadian indoor cycling challenge that raises funds in support of children and their families living with and beyond childhood cancer.
Students from grade 9 to 12 along with their teachers created teams of 6, who each took turns riding in intervals of 10 minutes in an effort to ride the furthest distance.
Central’s Leadership Teacher Ezra Nicholson says each Inside Ride is dedicated to someone currently fighting cancer.
Nicholson says that Lorelai was able to attend the event for the second year in a row to help support the riders.
Nicholson adds that as a teacher it is amazing to see all the students come together and represent the school for such an great cause.
