A brand new state of the art synthetic ice hockey training centre is now open in St. Thomas. Cosgrove Hockey Academy located at 1 Silver Street is a more than 11,000 square foot facility featuring varying sized training rinks with synthetic ice. Although the facility does not feature real ice, owner Harry Cosgrove says that the synthetic ice does not damage your skates.
Cosgrove says the facility is geared towards all minor hockey players of all ages looking to improve their skills to help them advance to the next level.
Cosgrove says that they also have a virtual reality hockey system which features over 80 skilled based cognitive skills, reaction time, spatial awareness and more. They are just the second facility in Canada to offer the virtual reality software.
The academy is open from 4 p.m. – 9 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. Saturdays and 9 p.m. – 7 p.m. on Sundays.
