St. Thomas Police arrested a 44 year old male on Friday following an altercation that took place in the north end of the city. The incident which took place around 10:30 a.m. involved 2 males. Police report that one of the males was in the possession of an expandable baton that he used to strike the other male.
Police were called following the altercation where a 44 year old male from Elgin County was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of a prohibited device.
He was later released on conditions with a future court date.
Police report that the victim only received minor injuries as a result of the altercation.
