A winter travel advisory is in effect for St. Thomas and Elgin County. Environment Canada says that the advisory is in effect for Wednesday into Wednesday evening as snow squalls and strong winds are possible.
The system that may result in snow bands coming into the region is originating from Lake Huron.
Up to 10 cm of snow is possible by the time the snow squalls weaken this evening. Driving conditions may become hazardous as a result of the heavy and blowing snow and visibility could be reduced and may also change quite quickly.
