Elgin County is expected to be spared from the significant ice storm, heavy snow and high winds that are threatening most of Ontario tonight and into Monday. Freezing rain is expected to start in central and eastern Ontario Sunday and continue into Monday.
Environment Canada does predict periods of rain and the risk of thunderstorms this evening and into Monday, however a low of plus 2 shouldn’t result in any freezing rain in the area.
Hydro One is advising customers to be prepared for the potential of extended outages that could impact the Province due the expected ice storm or heavy rain.
