Looking back at his first full year as Mayor of St. Thomas, Joe Preston says a number of significant things stood out to him. Although many great things happened in the community during 2019 including the reconstruction of Elm and Ross Streets, the completion of the 230 Talbot Project and the announcing of new transit projects, looking back Preston says the number 1 thing that stands out to him is how great the job is. Preston says getting to talk to the people that he is serving and walk the streets of the community each day is the best part of the job.
Preston says 2019 brought a lot of firsts to the City of St. Thomas including the execution of Jurassic Park during the Toronto Raptors playoff run that brought the community together.
Preston says that he is excited for future events, announcements and projects that will be brought to the City in 2020. Preston says 2020 will bring continued work towards affordable housing, improved transit, jobs and recreation to the City of St. Thomas.
