For the first time ever, Lotto Max is offering a record-breaking $70 million jackpot this Friday (Jan 3). Lotto Max has soared to new heights with a $70 million jackpot for tonight that includes 10 additional and separate MAXMILLIONS prizes worth $1 million each. To date, the largest jackpot ever won in Canada was worth $65 million and has only been won two times in Canadian history.
OLG spokesperson Dita Kuhtey says that the jackpot is so high due to the fact that nobody has won in 10 draws.
Kuhtey says that unfortunately the jackpot will not continue to roll over if no winner is announced after Friday, as the Lotto Max jackpot cap is $70 million, which is up from the previous cap of $60 million in May of 2019.
For each $5 play, players receive three sets of seven numbers ranging from one to fifty. Players must then match all seven numbers, in any one set, to win the jackpot or the MAXMILLIONS prizes.
Those wishing to purchase a ticket for the draw can do so at authorized OLG retailers or online at PlayOLG.ca until 10:30 p.m. Friday, January 3rd.
