A website has been set up by the County of Elgin to keep you updated on the King George VI Lift Bridge during its reconstruction. The bridge in Port Stanley is set to undergo rehabilitation beginning this year. Throughout the duration of construction, a detour will be in place for motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians.
The County of Elgin has set-up the site to help share status updates, as well as information about the detour, local events, and additional information about the Village.
The lift bridge has been around since 1938 and is due for a makeover to extend the longevity of the structure.
You can find the new website by clicking here and those seeking more information can sign up for construction blog updates through the main page of the website.
The expected completion date for the rehab project is May, 2021.
