The Ontario Government is investing in small, rural, and northern communities, with over $5.6 million being invested in infrastructure in Elgin-Middlesex-London. 9 municipalities in Elgin County will receive portions of the funding to address their local community infrastructure needs through the Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund. The 3 municipalities in our area receiving the most funding include the City of St Thomas receiving $1,984,203, the County of Elgin receiving $1,226,460, and the Municipality of Central Elgin receiving $547,837.
Elgin-Middlesex-London MPP Jeff Yurek said in a statement that he is upholding his commitment to support local municipalities. Adding that this funding will help build and repair roads, bridges, water and wastewater infrastructure in our community.
