Police have made 2 arrests following a diversion theft in Aylmer. Aylmer Police were called to the local Home Hardware the afternoon of January 5th, where officers were told two individuals had entered the store that afternoon.
One man pretended to be shopping, while the companion distracted the clerk.
When the attendant looked up, the culprit had made off with a Dewalt Drill Combo kit and a Stihl Hedge Trimmer valued at close to $500.
Aylmer Police have since made an arrest and have charged a 30-year-old male from St. Thomas with 5 counts of theft. Also charged with Trafficking in Stolen goods, Possession of stolen property and unlawful possession of substance included in Schedule II is a 44-year-old female also from St. Thomas.
