A 35 year old St. Thomas is man is facing multiple charges after police were called to a disturbance on Talbot around 3 a.m. this morning (Feb 11). Officers that were on general patrol were flagged down by 2 pedestrians who reported being confronted by a male who began yelling at them and then threw a shotgun shell at them.
One of the pedestrians captured video of the suspect and showed it to police who were able to easily recognize the suspect. Police report that the suspect approached the cruiser moments later, where officers then took the male into custody. During the arrest, police seized a box of 12 gauge shotgun shells and $80 worth of Crystal Methamphetamine from the suspect.
The male was currently at large in the community after being released by the courts on several conditions specifically a weapons/ammunition prohibition.
As a result, the 35 year old has been charged with four counts Breach of Release Conditions and one count Drug Possession. He was held at the police station for a morning court appearance.
Police do report that no injuries occurred as a result of the incident.
