Early Saturday morning, the St. Thomas Police attended Parkside Drive due to a motor vehicle collision. Police report that the vehicle struck a building before fleeing the scene southbound.
Officers were able to locate the vehicle a short distance away where it was discovered that the driver had been impaired after registering just over two times the legal limit.
As a result, police have charged a 39 year old St. Thomas man with Impaired driving, having over the legal limit and failing to remain at the scene of an accident. He was released with a future court date.
