The province of Ontario has announced another $3.3-billion dollars for the health care sector. Finance Minister Rod Phillips made the announcement this afternoon saying the investment goes above the $17-billion Ontario action plan that was launched yesterday.
Phillips says the health of local residents remains their top priority.
The Finance Minister says they will invest $2.1-billion for the COVID-19 response, $341-million for 1,000 acute and 500 critical care beds, $124-million for hospital transition support, $75-million for personal protective equipment, $243-million for virus containment and screening at long-term-care homes and another $160-million for public health in the province.
Phillips says they’re investing money into saving lives and jobs.
