Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has released details on the new support plan for Canadian businesses. Trudeau says the government will pay up to 75% of wages for employees who have been impacted by COVID-19.
The Prime Minister says any business that has seen a 30% reduction in revenues will be eligible.
Trudeau says this wage subsidy will pay up to $847 a week to employees impacted by this health crisis. He says businesses should use every dollar to rehire workers and support employees.
The Prime Minister adds there will be serious consequences for anyone who takes advantage of the new program.
