Southwestern Public Health has confirmed the 7th case of COVID-19 in the area, this time listing the patient as from St. Thomas. The website that is updated by the health unit daily, says the 7th case is a male in his 70s who is currently self isolating at home. SWPH reports that the new case was contracted due to recent travel.
This brings the total of confirmed cases in the Southwestern Public Health region that covers Elgin County, Oxford County, and the City of St. Thomas to 11.
As of Tuesday (March 31) at 8 a.m., the public health unit reports having completed 284 tests, with 147 negative results, and 103 pending.
