South Western Public Health is changing the way they announce new cases of COVID-19 in the region. As of April 6th, they will no longer be posting the status of each individual case and will instead align the posting structure with that of the Provincial Government.
The new dashboard on their website now includes a breakdown of cases by municipality, charts displaying the local epidemic curve, age and gender distribution, and cases in surrounding public health units.
As of Tuesday (April 7) the website currently shows 7 active COVID-19 cases in St. Thomas and Elgin County with 3 cases in Dutton Dunwich, 2 in Central Elgin, 1 in Aylmer and 1 in St. Thomas.
In total SWPH reports having administered 519 tests with 365 negative results, 133 still pending, with 14 ongoing cases, 5 resolved cases and 2 deaths, both in Elgin County.
