A 53 year old St. Thomas resident is facing several charges after he was caught speeding by Aylmer police. On April 15th around 7 a.m. an officer on patrol that was conducting radar enforcement in the area of Talbot and Elm Street in Aylmer, clocked a vehicle exceeding the speed limit and as a result the officer activated emergency lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the vehicle.
Police report that the driver failed to stop and continued traveling until he pulled into a private driveway on Forest Street. When the officer spoke with the driver it was revealed that the vehicle was not insured, the male was a suspended driver and he had a small quantity of marijuana in his possession.
As a result the 53 year old has been charged with Failing to stop for police, Operate motor vehicle without insurance, Speeding, Driving under suspension and Drive vehicle with cannabis readily available.
