A 23 year old St. Thomas man was arrested for dangerous driving following a street racing incident that resulted in a collision. On Saturday (May 9), police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Talbot Street and Manor Road. Following an investigation it was revealed that two vehicles were allegedly racing each other, on Talbot Street east towards Manor Road.
Police say that one of the vehicles attempted to cut off the other vehicle and as a result of that maneuver the vehicle went into oncoming traffic and collided with a west bound car.
The driver of the vehicle was initially arrested for impaired driving but eventually passed drug and alcohol tests at police headquarters. The 23 year old was arrested and charged with dangerous driving and was released with a future court date.
