A 27 year old St. Thomas man has been charged with several driving offenses following a single vehicle collision near the intersection of Celestine and Horton Streets. On Sunday (May 10) around 5:30 p.m. the St. Thomas Police were called to the scene where they discovered a van on its side on the roadway. Officers that attended suspected that the driver was impaired by drug and arrested him at the scene.
The male was transported to the police station for processing where he refused to cooperate with the Drug Recognition Officer’s testing procedures.
The male is now facing multiple charges including Failing to Comply with a Demand, Dangerous Operation, Operation While Prohibited, Drive While Under Suspension, Use Plate Not Authorized for Vehicle and Drive No Insurance.
The 27 year old was later released on an Undertaking with a future court date.
