A 31 year old male is facing multiple charges after Aylmer Police caught him travelling 121 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. Police report that on Monday around 7:47 p.m. an officer stopped the vehicle travelling on Talbot Line and further investigation revealed that the driver had consumed alcohol sometime prior to the traffic stop. A roadside test was administered resulting in a fail.
The 31 year old male from Eden was taken into custody where breath samples taken at the station determined his blood alcohol concentration was 2 times the legal limit. In addition, a small quantity of marijuana was located in the vehicle.
As a result the male is being charged with Operation while impaired, blood alcohol concentration 80 plus, Drive motor vehicle with cannabis readily available, and speeding 121 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. The vehicle was impounded for 7 days and the male’s licence has been suspended for 90 days.
He will appear in St. Thomas Court in July to answer to the charges.
