The St. Thomas Public Library has officially launched their curbside pickup service. Although their doors still remain closed, the borrowing and returning of books and other materials have ramped back up.
Library users will be able to order books and other materials by placing them on hold through the library’s online catalogue at stthomaspubliclibrary.ca or by calling the library at 519-631-6050 and pressing “4”.
Once the items are placed on hold, the user will receive an email letting them know when the holds are available for pick-up.
Library CEO Heather Robinson says they are also now accepting book returns.
Robinson says that those who have had books out since they shut down, don’t have to worry about library fines as they have waived them at this time.
Robinson adds that they are following public health guidelines by holding materials once they are returned to them.
Curbside pickup services will be running Monday to Friday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., by appointment, to allow for proper physical distancing.
