After getting a green light from the province, licensed child care facilities in St. Thomas and Elgin are set to re-open following strict new guidelines. These include placing children and staff in groups of 10 or less over a day and screening of all staff and children. Teresa Sulowski, the city’s supervisor of children’s services is hopeful all centres will be open by the first week of July.
Sulowski notes with the restrictions, the number of available spaces will be reduced.
She adds some camps will also operate this summer. And, with the reopening of licensed child care, emergency child care centres will close on June 26.
