Southwestern Public Health is reporting a new case of COVID-19 in Malahide today. This news follows yesterdays announcement that St. Thomas had officially resolved all active cases, leaving the area with just 1 case remaining. Now, in total there is 1 active case in Malahide, 1 in Dutton Dunwich and 1 case remaining in Oxford County as the health unit reports 2 ongoing cases have since been resolved.
In the Southwestern Public Health coverage area, 8,599 people have been tested as of Wednesday, with 8,034 negative results and 482 pending. A total of 79 cases have now been resolved.
You are reminded that the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital is now taking appointments for those that wish to get tested for COVID-19.
Ontario reported 163 new cases of COVID-19 today and another 12 deaths. The total number of cases now stands at 34,016, and the death toll is at 2,631.
More than 85 percent of all cases have been marked as resolved.
