The St. Thomas Police have arrested and charged a 62 year old St. Thomas man after he hit a female with his vehicle in a Talbot Street parking lot on Tuesday afternoon.
Police report that the incident began when the man struck a parked SUV as he drove through the Walmart parking lot towards the grocery store next door. Two women that were inside the SUV at the time followed the vehicle over to the grocery store and waited for the man to return to his vehicle to exchange information.
When they approached the man, police report that he became confrontational and got into his car to leave. One of the women stood behind his vehicle in an attempt to stop him from leaving, however the man reversed into the woman pushing her back several feet before he fled the busy parking lot at a high rate of speed.
Officers were able to locate the male a short time later where he was arrested and charged with Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle and later released on an Appearance Notice for court.
