Southwestern Public Health is reporting a new case of COVID-19 in Oxford County, bringing the total of COVID-19 cases in their coverage area to 3. This news follows the recent announcement of a 5th death in relation to the coronavirus in the area. The new case that comes out of Woodstock now joins the 2 remaining cases, 1 in Malahide and 1 in Dutton Dunwich.
In the Southwestern Public Health coverage area, 8,850 people have been tested as of Wednesday, with 8,625 negative results and 139 pending. A total of 78 cases have now been resolved.
You are reminded that the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital is now taking appointments for those that wish to get tested for COVID-19.
Today, Ontario is reporting that there are 118 new cases of COVID-19 in the province and 9 new deaths due to the novel coronavirus.
The total number of cases now stands at more than 36, 000, which includes nearly 32,000 marked as resolved and 2,700 deaths.
The provincial government also says there are 202 newly resolved cases.
