No injuries were reported after a fire Sunday morning resulted in extensive smoke damage to a residence on Windemere Place in St. Thomas.
Chief Fire Prevention Officer Bill Todd says the fire started in the garage but did burn into the house.
Todd advises in a situation like that, it is best not to try and put it out yourself, instead call 9-1-1 immediately.
Todd says there is no damage estimate at this time and the fire is not considered suspicious.
