Police are investigating a motor vehicle collision that occurred Tuesday afternoon in the area of Gladstone and Princess Avenues. Police report that a 78 year old female driver struck a house and 2 gas meters before being stopped by officers.
The collision resulted in a natural gas leak and forced the evacuation of several area residences as a safety precaution. Residents were allowed to return to their homes around 3 p.m.
The driver is facing dangerous operation and a failing to remain charges. She was released with a future court date.
