Southwestern Public Health is reporting this morning (Saturday) a new COVID-19 case in Elgin county. The infected individual lives in Bayham and it brings to three the number of ongoing cases as of this weekend. The other two are in Woodstock. Earlier this week, St. Thomas and Elgin had no reported cases after a single case in Dutton Dunwich was resolved.
In the Southwestern Public Health coverage area 13,323 people have been tested to date , with 12,998 negative results and 237 still pending.
There has also not been a COVID-19 hospitalization at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital since April 19.
