Over the past five years, Elgin county has approved 208 applications for a total of $1.1 million under its award-winning Elgincentives Community Improvement Plan. Commercial and agricultural businesses located in Elgin are encouraged to apply for the next intake in September if undertaking improvements, restorations and redevelopment projects. Economic Development General Manager Alan Smith outlines some of the criteria and the selection process.
Smith outlines some of the circumstances under which an Elgin-based business could apply for up to $15,000 in financial incentives.
He notes the program has enabled the county to support local businesses to make enhancements and expansions to their properties to ensure Elgin’s business infrastructure remains vibrant for years to come. For more info or to apply, visit elgincentives.ca.
