Southwestern Public Health is reporting 6 new cases of COVID-19 today, with 5 of them coming out of Aylmer. The additional confirmed case is in Tillsonburg, with 3 new resolved cases reported in St. Thomas, Bayham, and Norwich.
There are now 82 ongoing cases across the region with 47 active cases in Aylmer, 17 in Bayham and 2 in St. Thomas.
Elsewhere in the health unit’s coverage area, there are 10 cases in Tillsonburg and 5 in Norwich. An additional case involves an individual who resides outside the province.
As of today, 99 cases have been resolved across the health unit’s coverage area.
SWPH has also declared an Institutional Outbreak at Terrace Lodge in Aylmer, where 1 staff member has contracted the virus.
Today, Ontario is reporting fewer than 100 new cases of COVID-19 for the fourth day in a row.
Government numbers show 95 new cases of the novel coronavirus were reported yesterday, along with one new death.
Health Minister Christine Elliott says 15 of the province’s 34 health units aren’t reporting any new cases at all, with another 14 recording fewer than five.
About 26,000 COVID-19 tests were processed across the province yesterday.
