Following a weekend that saw active COVID-19 cases fall slightly in the Southwestern Public Health coverage area, the health unit is reporting a small increase today.
As of Monday morning, the health unit is reporting 72 ongoing cases, up only 2 from Sunday.
There are now 39 active cases in Aylmer, 15 in Bayham and 2 in St. Thomas.
Elsewhere in the health unit’s coverage area, there are 11 cases in Tillsonburg, 2 in Norwich and 1 new case in Woodstock. An additional case involves an individual who resides outside the province.
Of the ongoing cases, 11 individuals – fall in the 50 to 59 age bracket, 12 in the 40 to 49 year age bracket and 15 individuals between the ages of 20 and 29. There are also currently 5 confirmed cases in children under nine years of age.
As of Monday, 132 cases have been resolved across the health unit’s coverage area.
