As myFM first informed you, the St. Thomas Elgin Food Bank closed its facility for the month of July in order to complete repairs, but it was still business as usual.
The Food Bank who are still putting the finishing touching on repairs, operated their service via a dedicated help line, which they will continue to do until their doors are ready to reopen.
General Manager Karen McDade says despite still being available to serve the public, the food bank saw a slight decrease in individuals served during the month of July.
McDade says that while their doors have been closed they have been able to utilize space over at the Horton Farmers Market.
She adds those that are in need of food assistance during the remainder of the closure are asked to leave their full name and phone number on the dedicated helpline through voicemail or text message at 519-878-FOOD (3663).
The St. Thomas Elgin Food Bank will also be one of the recipients of our myFM and Elgin Roofing All Hands-On Deck Food Drive taking place this Thursday and for more information on that, you can click here.
